From our perspective, the definition of marketing is very simple.
Marketing is everything you do.
It is the creation and successful implementation of
marketing that is the difference between profit and loss,
between success and failure, between OPEN and GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.
Marketing is everything you and your employees do, as you represent
your company.
Do not get locked up on the argument that Marketing is Advertising, or Sales
is Marketing. Both are correct. Advertising is a component of marketing, and
marketing is a component of sales. But, it goes so much deeper than that.
Marketing begins with a comprehensive analysis of everything that not only
you do, but everything your competitors and customers do, as well. It’s how you
respond to the actions of your competitors, your market, your industry, and your
employees that make the difference.
Everything is marketing.
Marketing is a part of our name. It is what we do best. We help you to
understand marketing by helping you to look at your company from every
perspective. Until you understand what marketing really is, from your company
perspective, your competitors may continuously take market share from you. It
could cost up to 10 times as much to re-acquire your market share, if you can,
than it was to secure it in the first place.
